Now, you do not have to visit a shop to get your jewelry cleaned! Yes, you can clean your jewelry at home without having a fear of losing its charm and scintillating effect.  If you’re like most women and you don’t have time to get your jewelry cleaned professionally.  You can go out and purchases specific products for the job, but why bother when you can just use some ordinary household products? Those are probably in your cupboards right now. Yes, you can use products from your cupboard and wear it gracefully just like a piece which you have bought few days ago. I am sure you have heard a lot of things and a lot of people recommending you a lot of things which you should use for cleaning your jewelry. But this is something great which I am about to tell you right now, look out for the below mentioned things at your place and grab them quickly to clean all your silver, gold or diamond jewelries. You might be surprised but yes, you can go ahead and clean them with these simple products which you would find in your cupboard or washroom. Check it out!

Vodka

Want some? Well, yes I do want some to clean my jewelry here. I know you may not find this one thing in your place lying around but just in case it is in the house and you do not wish to drink more then you can certainly take some to clean your jewelry! Simply dab a napkin with vodka and wipe your stones clean. Avoid it on non-crystal gem.

Baking soda

Here it comes, Baking soda. Make a thick paste with a 1/4 cup of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of water.  Apply with a damp sponge, rub and rinse.  For gold, add a light coating of the mixture to the jewelry and rinse with white vinegar.  Avoid using this baking soda solution on gemstones or pearls.  Baking soda is too abrasive for such delicate jewelry. This can do wonders to your jewelry.

Ketchup

You heard it right! I am talking about ketchup. It is same bottle which you use at time to dip in your sandwiches or fries. But this time you can use this bottle as jewelry cleaner for your jewelry. Just don’t let your jewelry soak for too long.  A little goes a long way. Be careful.

Toothpaste

How can we forget this all time favorite jewelry cleaner, toothpaste and I am quite sure you will find this one at home. We all use it in the morning to brush our teeth but the only difference is now we will use it to brush our jewelry. But don’t use the same toothbrush that you use to brush your teeth and don’t be too hard with the brushing, or else you will have to go to the jeweler to get your setting tightened.

Soda

Wow! One more thing which you will definitely find at home. Just like this can make you juices or vodka or whiskey taste amazing this can also give a scintillating effect to your jewelry also. Did you know it is also a great cleaner for your diamonds?  That’s right, just drop your rings into a glass of club soda and soak overnight.

Aluminum Foil

Just like it keeps you food safe and hot it will keep your jewelry also safe and never lets it shine vanish away. So, you can line a bowl with aluminum foil and fill the bowl with hot water and powdered laundry detergent (not liquid) you can clean your jewelry through something called ion exchange.  All you have to do is soak your jewels for a minute. This also works to clean silverware!
