Use waterproof makeup, I know you are too excited for Navratri and dancing and playing might make you look dull by the end of the day. So go for waterproof makeup which will stay long and will not vanish from sweating.

Don’t think of leaving your hair open. Open hair hairstyles are a recipe of disaster especially during dandiya night. They’re very unmanageable while you dance. So, better go for a good bun or a braid. Both look superb on Indian outfits.

Avoid heels completely, you might think that you are looking stylish but well heels do not go with the traditional wear that much when you know it is garba and you have to shake and move your body!

It is very important for you to feel comfortable in your clothes in order to enjoy the festival to its fullest. If you don’t feel comfortable you would end up missing all the fun just because a wrong choice of dress and fashion advisor. Look out for traditional Ghagra and choli.

Heavy Indian traditional accessories look super cool during festivals like Navratri. Again, be careful. You don’t want to go for heavy with accessories that you’re barely able to move. Wear the amount you think you can handle easily. So, that you can move and shake on the dance floor and play around. While looking stylish and charming.

Go for colorful fabrics, yes it is Navratri and you do not have to wear sober colors! Why will you? So, play around with you outfit. Add a little metallic belt to accentuate your waist. Play with your favourite colours, and go for unconventional silhouettes, like dhoti pants or angrakhas. If you love the idea of fusing Indian and western elements, then wear an embellished skirt with a plain shirt.

It is usually colorful beads, mirror work, embroidery or shells that decorate the traditional lehanga and choli. While mirror work is really popular these days, what is also a great option is gota Patti work in silver or gold. Pearls, Swarovski, and colored stones also look really pretty. Various dyeing effects like bandhani, lahariya, and tie-dye look very chic when used in a duppatta, skirt, or choli.
